Understanding Dentures

Dentures are removable prosthetic devices that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Complete dentures replace all teeth in an arch, while partial dentures fill the gaps between remaining healthy teeth—helping you chew, speak clearly and maintain facial structure.

Types of Dentures

Complete Dentures: Conventional full dentures made of acrylic; placed after remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed. Immediate dentures are placed the same day as tooth extraction.

Partial Dentures: Made of acrylic or lightweight metal frameworks with gum-colored bases and artificial teeth, these fill in spaces left by missing teeth. They can be removable or attached via precision clips.
